OTTAWA, ON, December 10th 2015 – The Royal Canadian Legion has packaged up more than 3,100 Christmas gifts that will be delivered to Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP personnel deployed overseas in the days leading up to Christmas.

OpSanta“The Legion and our Ladies Auxiliary have a long-standing tradition of remembering our Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP members who are deployed overseas during the Christmas Season as well as on Canada Day,” says Dominion President of The Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Tom Eagles. “This year we are once again honouring this tradition dating back to WWII by sending them a gift package. It’s a little gift but it means a lot, because it lets those serving away from home know that we are thinking of them on these special occasions” adds Eagles.

This year’s package, entitled “A Taste of Home” includes: Canadian Maple Syrup Cookies and candies.

“On behalf of the 300,000 men and women of the Legion, we wish all deployed troops our very best wishes for a happy, healthy holiday season.
