Brad is a third generation Veteran and an Ordinary member of The Royal Canadian Legion. Brad served 23 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and he and his family have chosen Orleans, Ontario as their home.

COMMUNITY / VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES

Throughout many military moves both nationally and overseas, Brad has always been involved with his sons sports be it either hockey in the winter or baseball in the summer. Brad coached teams in both and served as an executive on minor sports associations. Brad joined the Legion in 1998 and is a member of Orleans Branch 632. As well he is a life member of the 8th Canadian Hussars Regimental Association. He is a Legion Rider and a member of the 1 CAV, Paardeberg Unit.

JOB EXPERIENCE

Brad joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1975 in the Armour Corps. Regimental duty saw him serve in Canada, Germany and on a United Nations tour in Cyprus. Brad retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1998 at the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel when he joined Dominion Command of The Royal Canadian Legion as an Administrative Officer. Five years later, he became the Director, Administration. In August 2009 Brad was appointed to his current position as the Dominion Secretary.

EDUCATION

Brad obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of Manitoba while still serving. In addition to a multitude of military courses throughout his career, he completed the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College (Toronto) in 1993 after returning from a three year tour in Lahr, Germany.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

After their nomadic life Brad and his spouse, Thérèse (also a Veteran) are glad to call Ottawa their home. Their two sons, Jonathan and Erik, are graduates from the University of Ottawa and are now serving members of The Royal Canadian Mounted Police stationed in New Brunswick. Jonathan is married to Amber and they have a daughter Roselise. Erik is married to Janelle. Favourite pastimes include working around the house, gardening, reading, golfing and the occasional ride on the Harley as well as travelling our beautiful country and overseas.
