Tom Eagles

Immediate Past President


Tom is an Associate Member of the Legion and a native of and a life-long resident of Plaster Rock, New Brunswick where he works for the Town of Plaster Rock, NB.


Tom joined the Legion Marble Arch No 29 Branch in his hometown of Plaster Rock, N.B., in 1979. He has served as Branch President, District Commander, Provincial Command President and Dominion Command President. At the recent Dominion Convention in St John’s, NL in June 2016, Tom became the Legion’s Immediate Past President and holds several positions on Dominion Command Committees.

Tom is also a Past President of Plaster Rock’s Minor Hockey League and spent five years on the Tobique Valley Manor Board of Directors.


Tom has worked in the Public Works and Recreation Department of the municipality of Plaster Rock since 1979.


Tom graduated from Tobique Valley High School in 1976 and immediately went to work with the Province of New Brunswick as a Revenue Officer until 1979 when he went to work with the Municipality of Plaster Rock.


Tom and his wife, Cheryl Giberson, have four children - Ryan, Daniel, Brook and Brett and two granddaughters, Killian and Ella. His hobbies include hockey, baseball and golf.

Tom is a recipient of the Legion Meritorious Service Medal in 2001, 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada medal in 1992; and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals in 2002 and 2012 respectively. In 2015, Tom also received the Minister of Veteran Affairs Commendation for his work with Veterans.
